Position Description

Assist the Finance Director in delivering key commercial management information for the Channel Islands to the MD and sector leads.

Design and provide regular and ad hoc reporting, to assist both the local Boards and the wider  group, in commercial decision making. Consider and utilise the systems available in order to assist in the automation of reporting where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Production of MI

Support the Finance Director with the production of the robust and accurate MI to support:

    • Board reporting
    • Group reporting
    • Ad hoc requests

Budgeting and forecasting

  • Budget and forecast ownership for client revenue by service across the ChanneI Islands, supporting the Finance Director in delivery of timely and accurate planning cycles (budget/forecast).
  • Responsible for the development of a forecasting model to accurately inform the top line trajectory of the business.

Commercial reporting

  • Month end closure with regards to client revenue.
  • Development and maintenance of client and service reporting ensuring financial models accurately reflect client/service within the Business.
  • Production of pricing reviews of new and existing business reporting in order ensure ongoing considerations around commerciality.
  • Attendance at new business forums to challenge the commerciality of the take on of new business.
  • Business partner and key point of contact to the revenue owning Commercial Heads within the Channel Islands.
  • Develop trusted working relationships with the key stakeholders in the Business and Group Finance.

Compliance

  • Adherence to local and international legislation and regulations where appropriate.

Advocate a strong risk and compliance culture.

  • Remain familiar with local AML legislation and other revelation regulations.
  • Report all complaints, operational risks, suspicions etc. in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Avert potential risk issues and bring them to the attention of the Finance Director where appropriate.
  • Maintain evidence of continuing professional development with at least 25 hours CPD per annum (and any additional hours required by membership of your professional organisation).

Relevant Experience & Skills

5 years’ experience within a similar role:

  • Knowledge of Viewpoint or similar accounting packages and banking systems
  • Ability to recognise and respond to risk situations and remain up to date with appropriate legislation and professional standards
  • Ability to develop strong relationship with colleagues
  • People management skills
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, demonstrate responsiveness, provide a proactive approach to work and take initiative
  • Team player
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
